Baby Shower Games

Games are a tradition at baby showers, and there are many different types of games to enjoy while having a good time. We’ve compiled several fun ideas here for you to choose from for your shower, free of charge.

We’d love to hear from you. If you decide to use any of the ideas posted here, or you have some additional game ideas, email us at Games so that we may post them for other mommies to use. Have fun!

Change the baby
Divide your guests into two teams on opposite sides of a table.

    You’ll need the following supplies:
  • 2 life size naked baby dolls
  • 2 stacks of newborn disposable diapers
  • 2 small travel packs of baby wipes
  • 2 small bottles of baby powder

The object of the game is to see which team can diaper, wipe and powder their baby the fastest. Use the assembly line technique. The first person in line wipes the baby, then passes it down to the next person to complete their task, and so on. The first team to finish wins and the guest of honor gets all of the extra supplies and the dolls.

Drink up!
Each guest (or a selected few) is given a baby bottle filled with water or juice, and whoever finishes drinking what’s in the bottle first wins. It’s not as easy as it sounds.

    Supplies needed:
  • several baby bottles
  • water or juice

Use your senses
Hostess places several small baby items into a brown paper bag. The bags are then sealed and numbered. Pass the bags around to all of the guests and watch as they try and guess what each item is by feeling it through the bag. The person with the most correct answers wins and the guest of honor gets to keep all of the baby items.

    Supplies needed
  • various baby items
  • same amount of brown paper bags as items that you have

Race to win
This game is great for couples showers. Blow up some balloons and have all the men in the room (or women) put a balloon under their shirt. Have a race to see who can get their shoes tied the fastest.

    Supplies needed:
  • balloons

Measure mommy

Make sure you have a willing and good-natured mommy first. If so, take some string and have each of your guests cut the string the length that they think mommy’s tummy measures. The guest that comes closest to her actual tummy size is the winner.

    Supplies needed:
  • string
  • scissors

Baby face
Have each guest bring a baby picture of themselves with them to the shower. Pass around the pictures, and the guest who guesses the most correct answers wins.

    Supplies needed:
  • guests’ baby pictures

Baby food
Line up 10 different baby food jars on a table. Remove the label from each of the jars and number each lid 1-10. Tape the labels from the jars onto a large piece of paper or poster board and have each guest try and correctly match the label with the baby food jar.

    Supplies needed:
  • 10 jars of baby food
  • Poster board
  • Marker
